Nanowrimo-ing

Supposedly I am doing Nanowrimo this month, but in reality I have written 600 words, and at this point, I should be at 16,000. Whoops.

It turns out that I don't enjoy writing fiction very much. I like telling jokes, but I can't seem to keep that up for a hundred pages. I just keep thinking "this is silly." Or: "Why am I writing this crud when so many other awesome people have written much better crud." And... I'll admit I'm intimidated by the craft of telling a story. I'm in awe of what some writers can do.

But, I told my 10-year-old I was writing a book. A book I started writing when I was 12. A book I have been promising myself I would finish one of these days, and that day has come!

So what does this have to do with Fluffy and the gang? Nothing, except that between Inktober last month and Nanowrimo this month, I haven't been writing Fluffy. And then today I randomly checked the page hits on this site, and one of the comics ("Closeted") had over 1200 reads. Maybe it was a bot. But I'm taking it as a sign. Somebody out there likes Fluffy and Fraz. So I will keep writing them. Just let me find something funny to write about, and I'll get right on that. Sorry for the hiatus. Mr. Bot - I don't want to let you down!
